The Modern Ranch Project is a transformative agricultural initiative launched by the Enugu State Government in strategic collaboration with American-West African Agro. Designed to redefine livestock production in southeastern Nigeria, this project brings advanced ranching techniques, sustainable practices, and commercial-scale meat processing to the forefront of regional development.
At its core, the project aims to address critical challenges in food security, unemployment, and agricultural productivity by building a fully integrated ranch system that spans cattle breeding, pasture management, veterinary services, and meat processing. By combining global expertise with local insight, the initiative is set to boost the local economy, create direct and indirect jobs, and ensure a reliable supply of high-quality beef and dairy products.
The facility will feature modern infrastructure including breeding pens, cold storage, abattoirs, distribution logistics, and on-site training hubs to upskill local farmers and agropreneurs. It will also serve as a model for public-private partnerships in agriculture, demonstrating how innovation, policy support, and international collaboration can spark meaningful development.
Together, Enugu State and American-West African Agro are not just building a ranch — they’re building a new future for agro-industrial growth in Nigeria.
